SMS Notifications

Sotaog sends SMS messages only for operational alarm notifications tied to industrial equipment at customer sites. These messages are not used for any other purposes.

Authorization is obtained as part of our customer onboarding process after a commercial contract is in place. The customer's management team or designated company administrator determines which employees should receive SMS alarm notifications based on their operational responsibilities.

Consent is collected in one of two ways:

Employee self-enrollment: The employee completes Sotaog's SMS consent form directly, entering their name, company, and mobile phone number, and checking the consent box acknowledging that they agree to receive SMS alarm and operational notifications.

Company-administered enrollment: In some cases, the customer's authorized management or admin team enrolls designated employees who are responsible for receiving operational alarms. These individuals are part of the customer's operations team and are assigned to receive equipment-related notifications as part of their job function.

The consent is that messages are for SMS alarm and operational notifications from Sotaog, and that message frequency varies based on equipment alarm activity. Phone numbers are used only for operational alarm notifications and are not shared with third parties.

Because Sotaog's Predictive Engines support industrial operators in identifying operational inefficiencies and improving cash flow performance, these SMS alerts are a critical part of helping customer teams respond quickly when equipment crosses configured thresholds. Sotaog is backed by AWS, Google, and the U.S. Department of Energy, and our goal is to help operators increase operating cash flow by up to 20% through better real-time visibility and decision support.
